Katarzyna Derlukiewicz, MD, Psychiatrist
with Hannibal Regional Medical Group Center for Child Success, recently obtained Board Certification in Psychosomatic Medicine through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Derlukiewicz also maintains Board Certifications in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Psychosomatic Medicine entails diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders and symptoms in complex medically ill patients.  Psychiatrists specializing in Psychosomatic Medicine provide consultation-liaison services in general medical hospitals, attend on medical psychiatry inpatient units, and provide collaborative care in primary care and other outpatient settings.

“Coexisting medical and psychiatric problems often present a serious diagnostic dilemma making treatment challenging,” explains Dr. Derlukiewicz. “This subspecialty equips me with a better understanding of the mind- body connection.”

Dr. Derlukiewicz completed a residency in Psychiatry and fellowship in Child and Adolescent
Psychiatry at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn, New York. She completed a second
fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine/Consultation- Liaison Psychiatry at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York. Dr. Derlukiewicz has been a member of Hannibal Regional Medical Group team since 2008.
