Schuyler C. Metlis, M.D., F.A.C.S., Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with Hannibal Regional Medical Group and Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, recently attended the 44th Annual Baker Gordon Symposium on Cosmetic Surgery in Miami, Florida. He has attended the Baker Gordon Symposium each year for the last 29 years to bring back the latest techniques for use when consulting with his patients.
Major topics covered at the symposium were endoscopic brow and mid-face lifting, in-office injectables like Botox, JuveDerm and Restylane, breast surgery including augmentation, lift and reconstruction, and abdominoplasty combined with liposuction. Lectures by internationally known experts on each topic were followed by viewing live surgical techniques via closed circuit demonstrations. More than 400 plastic surgeons from around the world attended this three-day symposium sponsored by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and The University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Metlis is a board certified plastic surgeon with over 30 years of experience. He performs a wide variety of surgical procedures including breast implants and reconstruction; face, eyelid, brow and neck lifts; and skin cancer surgery. Non-surgical cosmetic procedures include Botox, microdermabrasion, laser treatments, wrinkle fills and skin care using Obagi skin care products. Dr. Metlis is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Missouri Society of Plastic Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
